Okonomiyaki (Japanese Pizza)

Browse By

This menu is probably a menu that many people like because besides being crispy and delicious, it also has a lot of benefits from vegetables. The word “okonomi (お好み)” means liking or what you like. When combined with the word yaki, it means frying your favorite food, sure enough. For okonomiyaki, flour is mixed with vegetables and meat and fried. Then bring various sauces to pour on the face to add flavor and deliciousness. Especially when sprinkled with dried bonito flakes, the bonito flakes will move and look very beautiful. I would say that it’s very enjoyable to eat while hot. The outer batter is lightly crispy and the vegetables inside are super soft. yes

Ingredients for garnishing Okonomiyaki (Japanese pizza)

  • dried bonito
  • seaweed powder
  • mayonnaise
  • Okonomiyaki Sauce

How to make

The first step is to cut the cabbage and onion into small pieces and set aside. Then take the boiled shrimp and squid and chop coarsely. Turn to mix the dashi soup powder and hot water and stir until the soup powder dissolves. Next, mix the wheat flour, salt and broth together. Add the eggs accordingly. Stir all the ingredients together and put the vegetables and meat into it. Stir all the ingredients together again.

Put a pan on medium heat, then lightly grease the pan to coat the pan. Wait until the oil is hot and then pour the flour into it. Try to spread the batter evenly throughout the pan and have the same thickness. Keep frying until the batter is well cooked, then flip over and continue frying until the batter is crispy as well. (Here we recommend using a spatula, a little flat so that it can be flipped easily.) When the dough is crispy, we end it by squeezing mayonnaise on top. Followed by okonomiyaki sauce. Sprinkle some seaweed powder. A little more dried fish You can eat it hot.

Tip: You can replace shrimp and squid with meat as you like. As for vegetables, you can add carrots to add color.

Tip: For the dough, we will mix it into liquid water and put it in a smaller amount than vegetables. Just let the flour mix with vegetables and other ingredients until all over. If the batter is too thick or too thick, the vegetables and ingredients inside won’t be crispy.
